Zain Retherford (Penn State) has been named the 2017 Hodge Trophy winner.
Retherford, the two-time NCAA Champion, three-time NCAA All-American and two-time Big Ten Champion received 33 out of 45 first place votes, giving Penn State their fourth Hodge Trophy.
During the 2016-17 season, Zain had 27-0 record, with bonus point wins in twenty-five of those bout. After winning his second NCAA title in St. Louis, Retherford now has a career record 95-3 which translates to a win percentage of 96.44%.
Retherford finished ahead of Kyle Snyder (Ohio State), J'den Cox (Missouri) and Jason Nolf (Penn State).
